Gunshots at Mexico City International Airport

On September 12, 2023, gunshots were heard outside Terminal 1 of Mexico City International Airport. Travelers and employees sought shelter in the terminal until the area was secured. According to sources, the gunman was detained while the suspect tried stealing merchandise in the airport’s customs area. Two police officers were injured. One police officer was shot in the leg and shoulder, and another was hit by a car.
