On November 6, 2024, at approximately 1:30 am local time, Kuwait Airways flight KU283, a Boeing 777-300, landed at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport (HSIA) in Dhaka, Bangladesh. After passengers disembarked, an unexpected technical issue caused boarding bridge-6 to collapse, striking and detaching the aircraft’s door. Only the pilot and cabin crew were on board at the time, and no injuries were reported. Group Captain Kamrul Islam, HSIA’s executive director, confirmed the incident and stated that a senior team from the Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh is investigating the cause. Kuwait Airways arranged an alternative aircraft to transport the stranded passengers.
