Operations at Houston George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH) were briefly disrupted on November 24, 2025, after two United Airlines Boeing 737s made minor contact while preparing for departure.
The incident involved United flight UA544, bound for Cleveland, and United flight UA2541, scheduled to depart for Orlando. According to initial reports, one 737-900ER was taxiing when its wing touched another 737’s wing that had just pushed back and stopped near the gate area. The collision occurred at low speed, and no injuries were reported among passengers or crew.
Both aircraft returned safely to their gates, where passengers deplaned normally. United confirmed that replacement aircraft were arranged to minimize disruption and that the affected jets would undergo inspection and maintenance before resuming service.
In a statement, United said flight crews and ramp personnel followed established safety procedures, and the FAA will conduct a routine review of the ground-contact event. Airport operations resumed shortly afterward with only minor delays.
