Brussels Airport (BRU) will cancel all departing passenger flights on Tuesday, Oct 14, 2025, due to a nationwide strike by Belgian trade unions. The airport says the action, affecting security staff and other operational services, makes it impossible to run departures safely; some arriving flights will also be cut, with roughly half of arrivals scrubbed, according to local updates.
Brussels South Charleroi (CRL) confirmed it will not operate flights on Oct 14 either, telling passengers they will be contacted for rebooking or refunds.
The strike is part of a national day of action against government plans on budgets, pensions, and working conditions, with significant disruption expected across transport networks. BRU’s advisory states that airlines will reach out directly with options. Travelers should avoid heading to the airports unless their carrier explicitly confirms a flight is operating.
