On 3 December 2025, a Delta Air Lines Boeing 737-832 (WL), reg N3745B, experienced a bird strike to its No. 2 engine during takeoff from runway 24L at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX). The aircraft was operating flight DL2606 to Seattle/Tacoma (SEA) at the time of the incident. Video recorded by a spotter showed a brief engine surge and flash from the right-side engine as the jet climbed out of LAX. The crew leveled off shortly after departure, declared an emergency, and returned to Los Angeles for a safe landing about 18 minutes later. Fire and rescue services inspected the aircraft on the runway before it taxied to the gate under its own power. No injuries were reported among passengers or crew. The Boeing 737 sustained minor damage and was subsequently taken out of service for maintenance and inspection.
