Air Freight Companies

Of 47 air freight companies which I analyzed, that operate their own aircraft the top three based on aircraft fleet size are: FedEx Express, United Parcel Service and DHL. All three companies fly more than 100 aircraft, whereas the rest have fewer than 80 aircraft.

Initially, I expected most companies to primarily use the Boeing 777 freighter version. However, after checking, I found there are more Boeing 767 freighters in service than Boeing 777.

The graph below shows the number of aircraft vs. type of aircraft for all 47 air freight companies. This graph is accompanied by a table showing each individual company’s aircraft types and current in-service aircraft numbers.

The graph and the table were created on 18 August 2022 based on information available from company websites, www.airfleets.net and www.planespotters.net
