Air China Cargo has increased its firm order for the Airbus A350F, raising its commitment to 10 aircraft as the carrier strengthens its future long-haul freighter fleet.
The order expansion, reported by ch-aviation on May 5, highlights growing demand for new-generation cargo aircraft in the Asia-Pacific market. The A350F is Airbus’ latest widebody freighter and is designed to offer high payload capability, long range and improved fuel efficiency compared with previous-generation cargo aircraft.
For Air China Cargo, the additional A350Fs will support fleet renewal and international cargo growth. The aircraft is expected to help the airline operate more efficiently on major intercontinental freight routes, including services linking China with Europe, North America and other key cargo markets.
The Airbus A350F is based on the passenger A350 platform but features a large main-deck cargo door, a reinforced fuselage floor and cargo-specific systems. Airbus has positioned the type as a modern alternative for operators needing large-capacity freighters while meeting future emissions and noise requirements.
The expanded order also gives Airbus further momentum in the widebody freighter market, where it is competing against Boeing’s 777-8F and current-generation 777F. With Air China Cargo now increasing its commitment, the A350F continues to build its customer base ahead of service entry.
