Boeing is continuing to move toward U.S. certification of the 737 MAX 7 and 737 MAX 10, two long-delayed variants that remain important to the manufacturer’s narrowbody strategy.
The company said certification of both aircraft is still expected this year, although first deliveries are now planned for 2027. The timeline reflects Boeing’s continued work with regulators as it completes required testing, documentation, and approval steps.
The MAX 7 is the smallest member of the 737 MAX family, while the MAX 10 is the largest and is seen as especially important for airlines seeking more capacity on high-demand short- and medium-haul routes. Certification of the two models would give Boeing a more complete product lineup to compete against Airbus in the single-aisle market.
For customers, the revised delivery schedule means fleet plans will continue to shift into 2027. But for Boeing, keeping certification on track this year would mark a key milestone in restoring confidence, stabilizing production, and expanding the MAX family’s commercial reach.
