China Southern Airlines and Xiamen Airlines have placed a major order for 137 Airbus A320neo-family aircraft, strengthening Airbus’ position in the Chinese narrowbody market.
Under the agreement, China Southern will take 102 aircraft, while Xiamen Airlines will receive 35 jets. The combined deal is valued at around $21.4 billion at list prices.
Deliveries are expected to take place between 2028 and 2032, supporting both airlines’ long-term fleet renewal and growth plans. The A320neo family offers improved fuel efficiency, lower emissions and reduced operating costs compared with previous-generation narrowbody aircraft.
The order also reflects continued confidence in China’s domestic and regional air travel market, as major carriers prepare for rising passenger demand in the next decade. For Airbus, the deal represents one of the most significant aircraft commitments in Asia this year.
