Lufthansa has returned its first upgraded Airbus A380 to passenger service, marking a new step in the airline’s long-haul cabin modernization program.
The retrofitted aircraft now features 68 new business-class seats, providing passengers with an improved premium-cabin experience on the airline’s largest aircraft. Lufthansa has also upgraded the in-flight entertainment system, part of a broader effort to refresh the A380 product as the type continues to play a role in the carrier’s long-haul network.
The airline plans to complete upgrades across all eight of its Airbus A380s by mid-2027. The program reflects Lufthansa’s continued investment in premium travel demand while extending the service life of one of the world’s most recognizable widebody aircraft.
