Malaysia 737 Returns to KUL

A Malaysia Airlines Boeing 737-800 operating flight MH873 returned safely to Kuala Lumpur International Airport on 19 April 2026 after the crew reportedly received an unreliable airspeed indication shortly after departure.

The aircraft, registered 9M-MLO, had departed Kuala Lumpur for Surabaya when the issue was reported during the takeoff and initial climb phase. According to unofficial reports, the crew entered a holding pattern to manage the situation and carry out the required procedures before deciding to return to the airport.
