SCAT Airlines has expanded its commitment to Boeing’s 737 MAX family with an order for five additional Boeing 737-9 aircraft.
The Kazakhstan-based carrier also converted five existing Boeing 737-8 orders to the larger 737-9 variant, giving the airline more capacity as it continues to develop its route network.
The 737-9 is the largest member of SCAT’s 737 MAX fleet plan and offers additional seats compared with the 737-8, while retaining the fuel-efficiency improvements of the MAX family. For SCAT, the move supports growth on higher-demand routes and strengthens its ability to serve both domestic and international markets.
The latest order highlights continued demand for larger narrowbody aircraft as airlines seek more capacity without moving to widebody operations. For Boeing, the agreement adds further momentum to the 737 MAX backlog in Central Asia.
