A SWISS International Air Lines Airbus A330-300 rejected takeoff at Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport after an engine issue occurred during the takeoff roll.
The aircraft, operating flight LX147 from Delhi to Zurich, was accelerating for departure in the early hours of April 26, 2026, when one of its engines reportedly failed and caught fire. The crew rejected the takeoff and brought the aircraft to a stop on the runway before ordering an emergency evacuation using slides.
The aircraft was carrying more than 240 passengers and crew. Early reports said several passengers were injured during the evacuation, with some requiring hospital treatment. SWISS later confirmed that four passengers and one crew member were injured, with the crew member suffering a minor foot injury.
The flight was canceled after the incident, and the aircraft remained on the ground in Delhi for technical inspection. Airport operations were not reported to have been significantly affected.
